Spooky food fun - Mother spider and her spiderlings

Put the "char-BOO-teri" into this year's halloween party with a Mother spider mini charcuterie board.

Mother spider has hatched a new batch of spiderlings in the garden, just in time for Halloween. She will definitely be on her guard Halloween night making sure guest won't try to grab one of them. But could you blame them, they are so cheesy good.

Suggestion: The Mother spider board can also be a fun snack board for kids before they head out trick-or-treating!

Let's begin... if you dare?

Putting it together!

Step 1: Begin by placing your bowl in the center of the board.

Step 2: Fill the bowl with a few castelfranco radicchio leaves. I love the look of these leaves as they appear to have been splattered with blood....haha!

Step 3: Fill the radicchio with the bocconcini pearls.

Step 4: Create a leafy green frame around the bowl to build a garden look.

Step 5: Romanesco broccoli adds the look of garden moss. Also a great way for kids to eat their veggies!

Step 6: Place one radicchio leaf beside your bowl and fill it with chopped up tomatoes that have been dressed with olive oil, salt and pepper.

Step 7: Mother spider has brought dry and fresh flesh for herself! Parm crisps and folded capicolla are the perfect addition to this board.

Step 8: Mother spider tries to conceal her spiderlings by garnishing her nest with microgreens.

*SAFETY NOTE:

  • Use the plastic spiders for photos and presentation only!

  • Make sure to remove anything that is not edible before your guest consume the board!

  • For food friendly: You can always make olive spiders instead of using the plastic spiders

Mother Spider acts as a cheese cloche for your board and is spooky fun when your guest have to remove her to get to the spiderlings ;)

Have a fun and safe Spooktacular time!
